Playa Blanca is set to launch the end-of-year festivities with a high-energy celebration of sport and music. The highly anticipated Playa Blanca Music Run Night returns on Saturday, 29th November.
The event, which starts and finishes at the Plaza del Carmen, features three accessible race distances to suit all abilities: 1.6 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Runners can now register through the official websites, summitsportsevents.com or tripasioneventos.com, where full event details are available.
The race will weave through Playa Blanca’s most iconic locations, creating a vibrant, moving trail of light and sound. This year marks an important step forward in inclusivity, as the event introduces a dedicated diverse category. Participants with a disability certificate will be exempt from the registration fee.
Adding to the excitement, the Playa Blanca race serves as the grand finale of the regional Music Run Night series. With a prize pool exceeding €1,900 up for grabs in the 5 km and 10 km men’s and women’s categories, the stakes are high. The series, which also includes races in Puerto del Carmen, Haría, and La Palma, awards points based on participation in at least three of the four events.
Weekend of Fun
For participant convenience, race number collection is scheduled for Friday, 28th November, at the Sports Club Puerto Calero from 10:00 to 13:00 and again from 17:00 to 20:00. A final collection window will be available on Saturday morning at Plaza del Carmen from 10:00 to 13:00.
The festivities officially begin in Plaza del Carmen at 18:00 on Saturday with a lively warm-up session featuring Zumba, dancing, and DJs to get the crowd in the mood.
Following the races, which are scheduled to start at 20:30, the celebration continues with a massive street party. Several live bands will keep the energy high until the early hours of Sunday, 30th November. The running route itself will be brought to life by more than seven sound and lighting points, featuring sets from some of the island’s most prominent DJs.
Organisers have confirmed that lockers and refreshment stations will be available for all athletes. In a move to promote sustainability, each participant is asked to bring their own reusable container to help reduce plastic waste.
All registered runners will receive a commemorative T-shirt, with the first 200 people to sign up receiving an extra gift courtesy of the event organisers and Yaiza City Council.
Mayor Óscar Noda and Councillor for Sports, Ángel Lago, enthusiastically encourage everyone to take part: “We invite the whole community to join us for this fantastic event that combines health, sport, and entertainment, perfectly starting our end-of-year celebrations.”
