The Pescamar Titerroy sealed a victory last Saturday in Playa Blanca’s Copa Vela Latina del Sur and are currently placed top in the overall standings with two days to go.
Skipper Santiago González and his Pescamar Titerroy crew were the smartest of the seven boats that took the start in difficult sailing conditions due to wind speeds, close to twenty knots, which forced the competition committee to suspend the second race of the day.
After Pescamar Titerroy, Playa Blanca, and the Fuerteventura yacht “Isidoro y Manuela III – Di Napoli” crossed the finish line.
A mistake by the Triton, which left too quickly before the last horn, forced it to return to the starting point and restart. But even so, the dinghy skippered by Kevin Cabrera, finished fourth and keeps its title in touching distance.
There are still two days left, one on May 25th, with two races, and the final day that will dictate the champion and podium on June 8th.
Yaiza Mayor, Óscar Noda, and the Councillor for Sports, Ángel Lago, encourage fans and spectators to continue enjoying the Copa Vela Latina del Sur and the twists and turns to come.
