A member of a people-trafficking gang has been arrested in Arrecife after a National Police and Guardia Civil operation.
Eleven further members of the network were arrested in Madrid, while twelve victims have been released.
The victims were young women from South America who were promised jobs in Spain but trapped into paying off debts via prostitution once they arrived. Among the victims is a woman with a learning disability of 67%.
