Pedro Almodóvar’s brother, Agustin, recently shared photos to Instagram showing that the famous Spanish director has already begun filming on the island.
His new film, titled Amarga Navidad (“Bitter Christmas”), will star award-winning Spanish actress Bárbara Lennie and the veteran Argentine actor Leonardo Sbaraglia as well as younger stars Victoria Luengo and Patrick Criado.
It is the second time Almodóvar will have filmed on Lanzarote. In 2008 he arrived on the island with Penelopé Cruz to film sections of his film Abrazos Rotos (“Broken Embraces”).
