A British Airways passenger has attacked a Guardia Civil agent after they tried to remove them from the plane before it was due to take off from the Lanzarote airport.

The drunk passenger is reported by La Voz to have been causing trouble on the plane and Guardia Civil agents were called to remove them before it took off for London.

Before the plane was set to take off, a member of the flight crew alerted the airport staff and requested police presence for the removal of a few drunk and disorderly passengers.

Upon arrival, Guardia Civil agents boarded the plane and found the two troublesome passengers and asked them to leave the plane. One passenger refused and stated they were going not going to leave the aircraft voluntarily.

A section of passengers were asked to leave the plane so that the Guardia Civil could remove the pair without obstructions. One of the two agreed to leave, however, reports state the other passenger then attacked one of the agents and bit them on the arm.

The passenger was placed under arrest and is awaiting the following legal proceedings.
