An 80-year-old man was rescued by emergency services yesterday after injuring himself on rocks near a cave at the beaches of Papagayo.
The incident took place at the Cueva del Agua near Playa Mujeres, a site that is often only accessible at low tide. Emergency services received a call informing them that a 30-year-old woman and a man were in difficulties.
Local police, firemen and members of the Canarian Emergecny Service arrived at the zone and discovered that it was not possible to get the tourists out on foot. They were rescued using a jet-ski and the man, who had injuroies on both legs, was taken to the hospital in Arrecife.
