Workers at Adislan, the day centre for people with special needs, have announced indfefinite strike action starting from October 3 in protest at the continued failure of the Cabildo to pay funds that would guarantee their wages.

Workers complain that they have not received the customary extra payment in June, have only been paid €250 in September and “there is no prediction” that they will be paid in October.

Adislan directors have claimed they have no money to meet the debts, and that the Cabildo has transferred far less money than is required.

The workers have said they will demonstrate outside the Cabildo building until the situation is solved.
