The Cabildo’s public works department have removed over 200 tonnes of waste from Lanzarote’s roads in the last four months.
Cabildo vice-president, Jacobo Medina, stated “The crews are doing an intense and commendable job to keep the island’s roads clean”. Medina also assured that the department is working “to increase the workforce and, in this way, reach a greater number of problem areas on the island.”
Medina added that, “There are many points where the flora grows very quickly, and can even invade the road itself, and many citizens warn of these situations even before we detect them, which is undoubtedly a great help and shows the civic-mindedness that prevails in Lanzarote.”.
