Cabildo President María Dolores Corujo has reiterated that “no more fish farms will be permitted on Lanzarote”.

“I can guarantee that no area of the island will see these types of installations in the future,” Corujo said in a press release intended to “draw a line under this matter”.

Corujo will shortly be greeting the Canarian President, Ángel Victor Torres, who is visiting the island to talk to groups ands individuals who are concerned about the government’s Regional Aquaculture Plan.

Corujo pointed out  that it was under her current legislature that the “damaging” fish farms had been removed from Playa Quemada.
