The Canarian Government has approved a planning project for a new school building in Costa Teguise.
The 30-classroom centre will offer space for primary and secondary students, and €130,000 has been earmarked for the initial project.
“If everything goes smoothly, we will have the project drafted before the end of the year and we will then issue a tender for the works, aware that this new centre will improve the educational facilities in a town as important as Costa Teguise”, said Canarian Education Minister Manuela Armas. However, Olivia Duque, Teguise’s planning councillor, has criticised the Canarian government, saying “They’ve had a whole four-year term to do this, while we’ve been shouting ourselves hoarse for a new school.”
