The Spanish Health Minister has announced that her department will continue drafting a law that will ban smoking on outdoor terraces, beaches, and in private cars.
Monica García announced that the Smoking Prevention and Control Plan 2021-25 was being “taken out of the drawer” after three years on hold due to the pandemic. The proposed law also includes stricter controls on vaping.
“We will be reviewing it and talking to all those affected, always putting health at the centre. We cannot turn our backs on the only measure that can provide more years of life and better quality of life to the population,” the minister claimed.
