Juntos Por Lanzarote (Together For Lanzarote) is the name of the new party that is being formed by Yaiza Mayor Óscar Noda and a group of councillors on the island.
The party aims to represent the interests of Lanzarote and brings together councillors from various smaller groupings on the island. These include the Tinajo Renovation Party, Teguise First and Marea Viva from Tías, along with Noda’s Unidos Por Yaiza, which rules Yaiza council. The Municipal Platform of Haría may also join.
The new party will be the first to represent Lanzarote at an island level since the Lanzarote Independents Party (PIL), which has not taken part in elections since the corruption scandals which saw its founder, Dimás Martín, imprisoned.
The new party is likely to present candidates in the next municipal and Cabildo elections, scheduled for May 2027.
