Arrecife Local Police will receive 73 new pistols and ammunition next year.
€65,600 will be spent on Glock 19 9mm revolvers and 12,250 bullets, which will be used for regulation target practice and general supply of ammunition.
The renewal of weaponry is due to the fact that the old arms have been in operation for several years, and new recruits to the service require weapons and ammunition for the mandatory target practice that is part of training.
