Lanzarote’s Cabildo has announced three new bus lines and has extended services on other routes after the acquisition of 13 new buses.
The new lines, which will begin to operate on May 1st, are No. 22D (Airport – Arrecife Interchange), No. 162 D (Arrecife – Airport – Playa Blanca) and 7D (Arrecife – Maguéz).
Frequency of services will also be increased on the main routes connecting Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda, Puerto del Carmen, and Playa Blanca, with a total increase of 582 weekly journeys.
María Cabrera, the Director of Operations for Arrecife Bus, said “Thanks to the investment of more than 4 million euros, we are not only strengthening the island’s intercity transport service but are also making it more efficient and more environmentally friendly.”
The 13 new vehicles are low-pollution hybrids equipped with the latest safety and accessibility technology, including driver assistance systems (ADAS), rearview cameras, driver breathalyser and protective screens.
