From today, face masks are no longer compulsory on public transport and planes in Spain.
Health Minister Carolina Darias announced the new law several weeks ago, justifying it by saying that “the Covid situation is now stable.”
The law will lift the requirement for masks to be worn on buses and also on Spanish aeroplanes. However, masks will remain obligatory in chemists shops, hospitals, health centres and other “socio-sanitary” establishments where close contact with vulnerable people may occur, such as dentists and opticians.
