Canarian comedian Manolo Vieira has died at the age of 73.
Manolo Vieira started performing comedy in 1981, at the bar in his native Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where he was working as a waiter, and went on to own his own comedy club and become the most popular Canarian comedian, whose performances were always sold out.
His gentle, observational humour, on topics such as a supermarket trolley with a squeaky wheel, or losing your car in a big carpark, entertained generations of Canarians, but he also had success in Madrid and performed in Miami, Florida.
Vieira had been due to perform in Tias as part of his farewell tour recently, but his appearance was cancelled due to illness.
