Today is the last day to register for next year’s language courses at Arrecife’s Escuela Oficial de Idiomas.
Courses in several languages are available, including Spanish for Foreign Speakers. Classes take place at the language school in Arrecife (behind the bus station), and involve attendance at two two-hour classes a week (Spanish is usually taught in the mornings).
The cost for the entire course is just over €75. You can sign up online at eoiarrecife.com (go to Secretaría/ Preinscripción).
Today is also the first day on which candidates can register for the official EOI exams, which are qualifications recognised throughout Spain and Europe.
Anyone can register, and fees for each exam are €42 for “free” candidates (ie, those who are not officially enrolled on a course). Againn, you can sign up at eoiarrecife.com (go to Pruebas de Certifición). The sign-up period lasts until 13th May.
You can get an idea of what the exams are like by looking at previous papers at the Canarian Government’s website.
