In the first quarter of 2024, Lanzarote has recorded the lowest unemployment percentage in the Canary Islands according to the Canarian Statistics Institute (ISTAC).
With an unemployment percentage of 9.14%, Lanzarote is positioned as the island with the lowest unemployment rate in the Canary Islands in the first quarter of 2024. The average in the Canaries sits at 15.03%.
Additionally, Lanzarote is home to four of the five Canarian municipalities with the fewest registered job seekers; the lowest being recorded in Yaiza at 6.5%.
In third place Teguise with 7.8%, Tias in fourth with 8.1%, and San Bartolomé the fifth with 8.4%.
Second place Pájara in Fuerteventura recorded 6.8%.
Contrastingly, the islands with the highest number of registered job seekers are Gran Canaria (16.76%) and La Palma (16.19%.)
