Lanzarote’s very own Hecher Sosa, known to fans as “El Guanche Warrior,” has made a spectacular entrance into the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
The local hero secured a hard-fought victory against Brazilian competitor Luan Lacerda in his debut appearance with the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation.
The bantamweight clash took place on Saturday evening as part of the preliminary card.
Despite conceding the opening round to his opponent, the Canarian fighter regrouped effectively and battled back to claim the win. With this result, Hecher Sosa has got off to a flying start in the UFC, signalling a promising future on the global stage.
The victory adds to an already impressive record for Sosa, who now boasts fourteen wins against just a single loss, together with an outstanding streak of eleven consecutive victories.
