Lanzarote’s 78 hotels earned almost 65 million euros in January this year, 21% more than in January 2023 according to Lanzarote’s Data Centre.

Lanzarote’s hotels brought in almost 65 million euros in the first month of 2024 as the average hotel rates reached 128.90 euros, 17% higher than the average rate in January 2023 (109,96).

In comparison, the island’s other accommodation (apartments, campsites, lodgings and hostels) earned 16.4 million euros (a 5% increase compared to January 2023) and the average nightly rate increased by just 4% (76.40 per night compared to 73.49 per night).

Hotel employment is up 17% compared to January of last year, with almost 10,000 hotel employees on the island. Employment in other accommodation is up 12%, with 2,296 employees.

The average duration of hotel stays has hardly changed compared to January of last year, remaining at 6 days while other accommodation saw a decrease of 12% from 9 nights to 7.9 nights on average.
