Lanzarote’s Cabildo has approved a budget of over €209 million for 2025, over 10% more than in the past year. When associated entities such as the tourist centres are consolidated, the amount available will be €275 million
President Oswaldo Betancort said “The budget is a firm commitment to the future of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. With a significant increase in investment, we are prioritizing those areas that require priority and urgent intervention. “
Social care will receive over €60 million euros, destined to helping disadvantaged groups and the elderly, with a new residence located in Tahiche high on the priorities list.
30 million euros is destined to reinforce the water system and guarantee the sustainability of the resource. Infrastructure and Mobility will receive €20 million euros aimed at improving the network of island roads, along with an increase of 38.14% in investment in Public Transport. €2 million euros was set aside to ensure the continuance of free bus travel for regular users.
In the Housing Area, an increase of 200% is contemplated, reaching a contribution of approximately €1.5 million euros.
Educational spending will increase by 24.26%, there will be €6.1 million euros for cultural promotion and an increase of 28.24% in funds for promotion of physical activity and the improvement of sports facilities.
