Lanzarote’s César Manrique Airport was briefly closed to incoming flights this morning due to low visibility caused by a heavy, localised calima.
At least five flights, two from Jet2 and one each from Ryanair, Iberia and Binter, were diverted to Fuerteventura after visibility was reduced to less than 900 metres.
Conditions improved a couple of hours later, but further diversions and delays are not ruled out. Those waiting for flights to arrive are advised to keep updated.
