If you’re looking for a unique day out on Lanzarote, the annual Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing Fair will open this Thursday, the 5th June, at the Agricultural Complex in Teguise, and will continue until Sunday.
Among the stalls and displays, there’ll be several special events. A Gyotaku* workshop will be held on Friday at 10 am – as well as the 4th Island Cheese Competition. Local senior citizens will visit the fair later, at 4.30 pm.
Saturday, June 7 will bring a Canarian Wrestling Tournament at 9:30 a.m., a handball competition at 10 am and a dried fish workshop by the La Graciosa Brotherhood of Fishermen at midday. At 2:00 p.m., the farmers’ and ranchers’ meeting will take place, and at 5:00 p.m., a Horse Show will take place
One of the highlights of the fair will be a horse race at 12.30 pm on Sunday. Sunday will also see a dog show for Presa Canarias at 9.30 am, a display of farming implements and the day will conclude with the awards ceremony for the various contests and the official closure of the fair.
The Agricultural Complex is the group of buildings on the LZ-30 road between Teguise and San Bartolomé, where Quesería El Faro is based.
