Last month was colder and wetter than normal for June on Lanzarote.
Average temperatures last month were 0.2 degrees colder, with maximum temperatures 0.4 degrees cooler and minimum temperatures remaining the same as the average in the Las Palmas province.
Throughout June many residents and tourists took notice of the frequent cloudy spells and cooler temperatures.
Despite the drop in temperatures, the island still recorded 12 tropical nights (those in which temperatures do not drop below 20°C), nine recorded in Playa Blanca and three recorded by the weather station at the airport.
As for rainfall, June was 125% wetter than the average in the Las Palmas province and 142% wetter than the average of the Canary Islands for this time of the year. However, the most rainfall was recorded in La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
