The heavens opened in Playa Blanca at around 6am this morning… and Spain’s Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have activated a yellow rain and thunder warning for today and tomorrow. Did you see any rain this morning?
AEMET forecast rain from today (Friday 22nd) up to next Thursday (28th March) at the time of writing. Additionally, they have activated a yellow rain warning for today and tomorrow, as well as a yellow thunder warning from tomorrow (Saturday 23rd).
Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, has urged residents to take extreme precautions and follow flood risk prevention measures.
President of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, stated that specific measures have been established in areas of the island in order to minimise flooding risks.
