Islote del Francés wall demolished for safety

This morning work to demolish the walls of the abandoned building on Arrecife’s Islote del Francés started in order to ensure public safety.

Arrecife Ayuntamiento are currently in the process of demolishing the unsafe walls on the Islote del Francés that were part of the old Rocar canning factory.

In August last year, a body was found in the Islote del Francés under rubble. An investigation determined that strong winds had blown part of the crumbling wall onto the person.
