The Travesia A Nado del Rio, the famous swimming race between Lanzarote and La Graciosa, will take place on 4th November.
It will be the first time for several years that the contest will take place as normal. In 2019 it was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, and the pandemic halted competitions in 2020 and 2021. Last year, a limited number of places were offered to those who had been unable to participate in 2019.
The 2.6 kilometre race is a big event, with hundreds of competitors arriving at Caleta de Sebo in La Graciosa to check in. They are then transported to the Playa del Risco in a ferry, where they have to jump off and swim to shore before the race begins.
Registration will open on the morning of 16th June, and is predicted to be quickly filled on the same morning.
