Irish Businesses Awarded in Puerto del Carmen

Last month, Tías Ayuntamiento officially recognised five Irish business owners in Puerto del Carmen who have been running businesses in the municipality for more than 20 years.

This year’s chosen owners include Mai Blake of the Irish Harbour Bar, Shay and Kathleen Byrne of Paddy’s Bar, Gilbert Brown of the Spinnaker Bar, Gerry Flanagan of Nelly’s Bar and John Killeen of Lanzarote Investments.

On March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, the five will be invited to the main stage at the Plaza del Varadero to receive the awards.

There are more awards to come, too. Every year, an additional five long-standing Irish business owners are set to be awarded during the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
