Iberia Express is significantly bolstering its operations between the Canary Islands and the mainland to meet the demand for the Easter holidays. The airline has scheduled nearly 13,000 additional seats across its network between March 25th and April 7th.
This represents an increase of 70 more flights, bringing the total capacity on these routes to 126,000 seats during the peak holiday period. A substantial portion of this expansion is dedicated to strengthening the connection between Lanzarote and Madrid, with nearly 2,000 of the extra seats allocated to this popular route.
The airline has implemented increased frequencies across all the islands to accommodate both visitors heading to the archipelago and residents planning trips to the capital. During this period, Iberia Express will operate up to 12 daily round-trip flights to Tenerife (serving both the north and south airports) and 10 daily round-trip flights to Gran Canaria. For Lanzarote, the schedule features four daily round-trip flights. Meanwhile, Fuerteventura will benefit from three round-trip flights each day, and La Palma will see two daily flights on the days with the highest demand.
“The good weather makes the Canary Islands, year after year, one of the most sought-after domestic destinations during Easter, and for residents of the Canary Islands, this time of year is also a fantastic opportunity to visit Madrid and enjoy its cultural offerings,” said Isabel Rodríguez, commercial director of Iberia Express. “We expect an increase in demand on these routes, so we have scheduled nearly 13,000 additional seats for visitors and residents.”
