Teguise mayor, Olivia Duque, has stated that the demolition of the skeleton hotel on plot 242-B in Costa Teguise will come at “zero cost” to Teguise Ayuntamiento.

It was announced last week that the abandoned “skeleton” buildings on plot 242-B, in the far east of the resort nearest to the village of Los Ancones, was finally undergoing demolition after it was declared illegal and issued with a demolition order more than 25 years ago.

Last Sunday the Teguise mayor stated that the demolition would come at “zero cost” to Teguise Ayuntamiento after “meetings I have held with the Urbanism Councillor, Rita Hernandez, with the property to proceed with the execution of the Canarian Supreme Court’s ruling.”.

The cost will be imposed on the owner of the unfinished development, Promontoria Coliseum Real Estate, after several meetings were held in September to organise its demolition.

“Since then, we knew that the demolition would be imminent, but we wanted to wait to publicise the news until it began, so that we could notify the people who were occupying the property illegally to vacate it”, Duque added.
