This weekend could see hot weather, high winds and possible rain showers, according to the forecast of Spain’s weather agency AEMET.

As usual days are likely to start cloudy, with the clouds burning off later in the day. Wind will start to pick up this afternoon (Friday) and will remain brisk over the weekend, with some strong gusts possible in the central parts of the island.  Temperatures could reach the low 30s and there is the likelihood of a calima at high altitude on Saturday.

AEMET is currently predicting an 80% chance of rainfall on Sunday morning. Wind and temperatures will decrease from Sunday afternoon, but cloud cover may remain.

Despite clouds and haze, UV levels remain extreme, at 11, so slap on the sunblock and wear a floppy hat.
