The event, also known as the festival of colours, celebrates the love of the gods Rhada and Krishna. With brightly coloured powders, dancing, Bollywood DJs and food, it’s an unmissable party.
This event, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary, began to be held in Calle Remo and, in the last ten years, in the Playa da Las Naciones, located on the Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen.
The President of the Hindu Community in Lanzarote, Dharmendra Bhagwandas Jethani told us “It is the festival of love. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival that has become popular among non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people from other communities,” he stressed.
Entry is free and it will kick off next Sunday, March 24th, at 12 noon. You can expect plenty of fun with DJ Desi Jockeys (all the way from Manchester), traditional Indian food, colourful powders and foam fun!
