A hiker required emergency rescue on Sunday afternoon after suffering palpitations at the top of a mountain near Costa Teguise.
Emergency services received an alert at approximately 12:50pm on January 4th. It was reported that a person was experiencing severe palpitations, dizziness, and vomiting, and was unable to walk.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found that Teguise local police officers and an ambulance were already stationed on the nearest accessible road.
At the summit, emergency crews assessed the hiker. They confirmed he was stabilised and had good oxygen saturation levels, but remained unable to stand or walk unaided.
The team carried the man down the mountainside first to the waiting off road vehicle, and then to the road where the ambulance was stationed.
He was later transferred to the Dr. José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife for further assessment and treatment.
