Haría Ayuntamiento will spend over a quarter of a million Euros updating and expanding its popular Saturday craft market, it was announced yesterday.
The aim is to create an “suitable and attractive space for sellers and visitors, thus boosting the local economy,” according to Mayor Alfredo Villalba.
120 tents will be purchased, along with new display tables. The market will also be expanded by 60 more stalls, with a further 2,000 square metres available.
Haría’s Saturday market is one of the most picturesque on the island, taking place in the tree-lined central square of the town, with stalls offering crafts, home-made items and locally grown fruit and vegetables.
