Haría escaped heavy rainfall on Saturday but saw more than 11 litres fall on Sunday, becoming the most rained-on part of the island.
The result included waterfalls in the barrancos (valleys) of the north, such as the Barranco de Temisa near Tabayesco.
The downpours should make their effects known within in a couple of weeks, as hillsides and pasture are painted with greenery. Whether the rainfall was enough to bring about the explosion of wildflowers that occurs every few years on the island remains to be seen.
