A hang glider pilot was rescued from the Playa de la Cantería in Órzola yesterday morning with multiple injuries.
The 60-year-old pilot, of German nationality, crashed his hang glider onto a steep mountainous slope overlooking the beach at around 11 am, and emergency services trained in mountain rescue techniques used ropes to retrieve him from a ravine.
Once on the beach, he was immobilised and rushed to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital for treatment.
