A hang gliding enthusiast was rescued from the Mount Tinasoria path in Tías yesterday after falling.
The Montaña de Tinasoria, the largest of the ancient volcanoes that lie between Macher and Uga, is a popular spot for hang gliders to launch.
The incident was reported at 12.30 and staff from the Emergency Consortium, the Canarian Emergency services, Guardia Civil, Civil protection and local police attended the scene.
The man was discovered to be “moderately injured” and taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital. It is the second hang gliding accident to take place in the last week.
