Four injured in car crash near Rancho Texas

Four people were injured in a nasty crash on the LZ-40 road from the airport to Puerto del Carmen yesterday afternoon.

The accident occurred at around 3 pm near the Rancho Texas turn-off and involved two vehicles. A man aged 47 and a woman whose age has not been released were seriously injured and rushed to hospital, both in a state described as “critical”.

A 6-year-old child and another woman aged 37 suffered moderate injuries and were also taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa hospital for treatment.

The project to widen the LZ-40 road to a dual carriageway is expected to begin next year, once a contract has been awarded, with an estimated completion time of two to three years.
