A company operating buggy and quad tours has said that it will take the Cabildo and Teguise Ayuntamiento to court.
H20 sports claims that the lack of any action by the two institutions to regulate the routes that the tours can use has resulted in a situation where the company has received death threats and suffered attempted sabotage.
The company claims it has requested regulation for several years, and has even drafted a proposal for the Ayuntamiento, but has been ignored.
The resulting situation has led to a conflict which has included insults, death threats and attempted sabotage, such as deliberately placing large stones and pieces of wood on tracks used by the buggies.
Meanwhile, Teguise Mayor Olivia Duque has stated that the Cabildo is likely to introduce a law banning buggy tours on the entire island in November.
