A thick layer of fog caused several delays, flight cancellations and diversions at thr Lanzarote Airport yesterday morning.
16 scheduled arrivals were redirected to Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife because of low visibility after the island woke to find itself beneath a veil of fog.
The travel chaos wasn’t helped by the previous evening’s diversions of several flights from Gran Canaria to other airports after a drone was detected by air traffic controllers.
On Lanzarote, the fog had dissipated by mid-morning, when normal service was resumed.
