A total of 28 olive oils were tasted at this year’s Canarian olive oil contest by Concursos Agrocanarias, and Lanzarote went home with an award for the best bottle presentation designed by the Flower Power garden centre.
In the contest a total of 28 olive oils from 17 mills across six islands were tasted, which is an increase of 75% of participation compared to last years contest.
Of the 28 olive oils, there were thirteen from Fuerteventura (eight companies), six from Gran Canaria (three companies), four from Tenerife (two companies), three from La Palma (two companies), one from El Hierro (one company) and one from Lanzarote (one company).
Among the other winners are Antojo Majorero, Finca Soliviento, Palma Oliva and Finca El Refugio (Flower Power), with the special distinction of best image and presentation.
The extra virgin olive oil is produced by the team at the Flower Power garden centre, its clear to see why their bottle won best presentation as it stands head and shoulders above the rest.
The Flower Power team are experts in garden design and all things plants so it’s no surprise that they had an edge over the other competitors for design.
