The Guardia Civil have arrested five people in connection to a series robberies in Puerto del Carmen.
This month the Guardia Civil and Tias local police had increased their surveillance in Puerto del Carmen to respond quickly to reports occurring in the resort at night.
In the early hours of February 17th, three men committed forceful robberies in Puerto del Carmen. Using crowbars to break into establishments, they stole 915 euros cash as well as a cash register valued at approximately 1500 euros. The police intervened, arrested the men, and seized any stolen items.
That same day, a man and a woman were surprised by police as they were caught trying to forcefully enter a home.
While in custody, one of the arrested perpetrators was connected to another crime that had been reported. In the early hours of January 19th, a homeowner reported that someone had entered his home and stolen a laptop and watch valued at a total of approximately 1600 euros.
All five arrested perpetrators are now awaiting the following legal procedures.
