Arrecife Mayor, Yonathan de León, visited the capitals new cruise ship terminal this weekend.
Last year it was announced that the construction of two new cruise passenger terminals would soon commence, to strengthen Arrecife in the cruise circuits around the Canary Islands with better facilities.
At the time it was revealed that the first terminal at the Naos dock, will be a single floor with a space of 1,106 square metres and will provide services for transit and port operations, focusing on operational efficiency. The Los Mármoles terminal will be a 556 square metre facility and have the capacity to serve up to three ships simultaneously.
Last weekend, de León visited the ongoing work at the Los Mármoles terminal along with councillor Eli Merino who stated that it is a step forward for the port area of Arrecife “where tourist activity linked to cruise tourism forms part of its strategic strengths.”.
