Partido Popular councillors in Yaiza, Juan Monzón and Guayo Rodriguez, have denounced the “endless queues” at the taxi rank in the centre of Playa Blanca.
In a press release the councillors have highlighted “the endless queues that are forming daily at the taxi rank in Playa Blanca.”. Which, according to the Monzón and Rodriguez, “is not isolated, but is repeated throughout various times in the afternoon, when the queues reach more than fifty people.”.
Monzón and Rodriguez aren’t the first to complain about the queues for taxis in the centre of Playa Blanca. Over the years many residents and tourists have complained about the lengthy queues on social platforms.
Monzón states that “it has occurred for years as soon as the hotel occupancy rises [in the holiday period]. In the end, we all pay the consequences, and the municipality gets a bad image that should not correspond with a first-class tourist destination like Playa Blanca.”.
“Óscar Noda must address the problem at once, reviewing schedules and shifts of each driver to ensure the presence of vehicles at peak times”, Monzón added in closing.
