EasyJet’s base at Southend Airport in the UK will reopen this month, with new routes to Lanzarote, Barcelona and Salzburg now on sale from £29.99.

Flights to Barcelona will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays from 26 October, while flights to Lanzarote will depart three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 27 October. The new Salzburg service will operate twice weekly on Saturdays throughout the winter, from 6th December.

The addition of three brand new routes now means easyJet offers 20 destinations from the airport, where it will open a three-aircraft base next month, supporting around 1200 jobs including direct jobs for pilots and cabin crew.

EasyJet closed its base at the Essex airport in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns.

EasyJet will also be extending nine existing summer services to operate through out next winter. Connections to Gran Canaria, Enfidha, Malta, Faro, Antalya, Tenerife, Marrakech, Malaga and Palma will now operate all year round, providing customers in the region with even greater choice and connectivity across the airline’s unrivalled leisure network spanning Europe and beyond.
