Rough sea alerts are in place for Sunday 25th January on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Spain’s weather agency AEMET warns of waves of 5-6 metres on the northern and western coasts of the island. The alert was downgraded from orange to yellow at 8 am this morning.

Heavy swells on the north-western facing coasts have been frequent this winter, but lack of strong winds means that seas may not appear choppy. Southern coasts which are sheltered by the island, such as those in the main resorts, may be perfectly calm.

Lanzarote will enjoy bright, sunny weather with a few clouds over the next few days, with no rain forecast until midweek – perfect conditions to get out and enjoy the island while it’s at it greenest.
