Diving van destroyed in fire in Puerto del Carmen

A van containing diving equipment, including oxygen tanks, was destroyed in a blaze at Los Pocillos, Puerto del Carmen, early this morning.

Emergency services stated, “When we reached the scene we saw a vehicle in flames, with the possibility that there were bottles inside it.” The cause of the fire is unknown.

Firemen set up a perimeter and extinguished the blaze with water and foam. The van was destroyed, a palm tree was damaged and a nearby car suffered heat damage.
