A spill of diesel oil closed the Arrecife to Costa Teguise roundabout for three hours yesterday afternoon.
The spill was caused by the diesel pump of a bus, according to Enrique Espinosa, head of the island’s fire service, and around 150 litres of oil were spilt on the turnoff to Costa Teguise.
Firemen closed the turnoff for three hours and treated the spill with absorbent sepiolite. However, drivers are advised to drive cautiously in the area.
