A new born baby has died during the passage to Lanzarote.
On the 8th of January, a patera arrived on the coast of Lanzarote; upon arrival, emergency services attended to the new born. Unfortunately the baby, which had been born during the travel, had passed away.
There were 43 occupants aboard the patera in total. This recent death marks the second immigrant death of 2020, after someone had died aboard a patera south of Gran Canaria.
