A 50-year-old man died yesterday after suffering a heart attack while bathing in Puerto del Carmen.
At just after 1 pm, lifesavers at Playa Grande removed the man from the sea and alerted emergency services. They then attempted to resuscitate him, without success.
Canarian Emergency Service paramedics were also unable to revive the victim, and post-mortem procedures were carried out by local police and Guardia Civil officers.
